Jack's Favorite Summer Memory
On July 28th I tested for my black belt. Before the test started, my hands were sweating like crazy. I really thought it was going to kill us. I was really nervous!
It was a good two hour test. A bunch of kids in my age group got sick. Why? Because we were running, punching, kicking, grappling and everything else we had learned. After the test I felt very proud of myself.
The hardest part about the test was basics. We had to do five strikes per command for every strike. A strike is a karate move. By the time that was over I felt like I was going to pass out. It was very challenging because we couldn’t get a drink. How would you feel if you were being tossed around like a pillow and couldn’t drink water for two hours? I felt really dehydrated.
At the end of the test they finally handed out the belts. I got a picture with my sensei. This was the best moment of my summer!

Congragulations Jack ... WoW ... can hardly believe you already attained your black belt, proud and awed at the same time ... You are the "man" ... I took karate years ago, but never with the focus you obviously have. "Focus" ... all my best ...
